I wholeheartedly think I might agree with you on that.

Amazing as usual!

Is it made out of plasticine again? Truly brilliant details too. I would love to see a work in progress/tutorial of the process. This is one stunning result!

Hello there!

The head is plasticine/clay sculpty stuff.. Very similar to the other guy you've already seen..

Ohh, a tutorial? :hmm: Maybe I could..

I never handled plasticine myself. But seeing your results I am most intrigued by the material, the process and all. Of course one has his secrets and tutorials can be time consuming when they're made well. I was just putting the idea across.

I'm sure I'd find something at the cost of some research.

Well you know I'm not one for reading tutorials, let alone writing one. But it's simple enough - it's a very experimental little figure. Plasticine is just a brand name that has become so well known. You could sculpt the head with clay - I've not yet attempted anything facial expressions or movements and I don't think I will on this guy. basically, it's a plasticine head balancing on a wooden stick thing which is surrounded by masking tape and newspaper.

Hehe I know what you mean. It took me a lifetime to write three tutorials and I don't think I'll be making another one for a few years at least. It's much more fun answering questions rather than having to cover a whole topic.

Well once again the result is brilliant. Did you paint it in any way or is it just the light that's giving it so much texture?

YES.

The figure only has charcoal brushed on his face, mostly in the eye area. No paint.. Thanks again for your kind comments!

You're very welcome.

I am truly impressed by your skills in sculpting and composition of all those stills from your animation! When do you think you'll have some footage to show?

Kind of you to say!
I dunno. If I work hard on making a composition - even just a weird piece (there definitely won't be narrative at this stage - I might have something to show on Friday... :fingerscrossed:
